The widening of Tanunda Oval as part of approved acceleration works at Tanunda Recreation Park will be deferred to late winter/early spring to coincide with the break between football and cricket seasons. In the interim, to achieve the minimum three metre run-off, the goal posts will be moved to slightly reduce the overall width of the playing surface. Tanunda Football Club and the Footy Association support this strategy as a one-off resolution for the 2018 season to minimise disruption and provide certainty for the season. Tanunda Cricket Club and the Association have also taken a flexible approach to scheduling early in the 2018-19 season, with capacity to schedule initial fixtures away from Tanunda Recreation Park if required.
